A silver/straw color, the 2022 Chardonnay Aurata is gorgeous with expressive notes of white peach, crushed stones, orange blossoms, sherbet, and delicate spices. The palate is simultaneously intense and weightless, with full-bodied richness. It has a luxurious, waxy texture, accompanied by lifted saltiness and a refreshing spine of acidity and energy, which propels a long-lasting finish that will only gain in complexity over the next several years. It should have no problem aging another 10-15 years and is worthy of some patience.

Aromas of toast, nuts, walnuts and Bosc pears, then rich, lavish fruit, spice, vanilla and brown butter flavors with touches of damp earth, wild herbs and mushrooms. Muscular, tannic and firm in acidity, but so layered, long and lingering. Full-bodied but seemingly weightless. Drinkable now, but best from 2029.
