Delicious liquorice, chocolate and cedar on the nose with loads of blackcurrant fruit too. Smooth but impressive tannins and medium body, and still with plentiful primary fruit – this is ageing superbly. (RH)

Fully evolved. Slightly rusty nails. Dense and velvety. Correct, but slightly dense on the mid palate. (JR)

Mid crimson. Dull red wine on the nose. Serviceable rather than exciting. Stodgy. (JR)

Something a little raw on the nose. Pretty brutal: all structure and not enough fruit. Anthracite? Certainly uncompromising. (JR)
