Tasting notes
A precise, finely-cut wine, the 2012 Gevrey-Chambertin is quite pretty, although it is also just a touch less expressive than it was from barrel. Rose petal, mint, spice, blood orange and white pepper all add lift on the delicate finish. Today, the Gevrey is a bit compact, but if it fleshes out in bottle it will merit a slightly higher score.

Healthy bright red. Ripe, expressive aromas of wild red berries and game. Very good energy to the fresh red fruit flavors. Finishes with slightly edgy tannins and a piquant note of bitter cherry.
Good deep red-ruby. Musky, wild aromas of black cherry and pepper. Sweet dark fruit and violet flavors are joined by a suggestion of roasted earth. Densely packed and silky in texture, finishing with rather suave tannins.
