Tasting notes
Medium ruby-purple, the 2018 Zinfandel Carlisle Vineyard has exuberant, spicy red cherry and raspberry compote with notes of cinnamon stick, apricot and loads of floral perfume. The palate is grainy and bursting with fresh acidity, replete with bright fruits and a flourish of spice on the long finish.

From the Russian River Valley and 95% Zinfandel and 5% a mix of assorted black varieties, the 2018 Zinfandel Limerick Lane Vineyard is another gorgeous effort from Officer that shows the purity and quality of the vintage brilliantly. Blueberries, sandalwood, flowery incense, and brambly herb notes all dominate the bouquet, and it's as silky and seamless as they come, with no hard edges and straight-up awesome purity of fruit. It's already hard to resist, but it’s going to evolve nicely for a decade.
The 2018 Zinfandel Limerick Lane Vineyard is attractive, but it is also a bit light for this site, where the wines are often bigger and more overtly powerful. Sweet tobacco, cedar, mint, red-toned fruit, licorice, wild flowers and dried herbs all grace this expressive, yet understated Limerick Lane Zinfandel.
