Tasting notes
The 2005 Torre Muga is a dense purple color with an impressive bouquet of pain grille, mineral, spice box, lavender, black cherry, and blackberry. Dense and structured on the palate, it is likely to evolve for another 10-12 years and drink well through 2030. Importer: Jorge Ordonez, Fine Estates from Spain, Dedham, MA; tel. (781) 461-5767

(75% tempranillo, 15% mazuelo and 10% graciano) Vivid ruby. Exotic aromas of raspberry and blackberry preserves, cherry-vanilla, cola, incense and potpourri. Weighty, creamy red and dark berry flavors are sweetened by vanillin oak and enlivened by pepper and spice qualities. The dark berry notes build with air and carry through the long, sweet finish. Very exotic stuff; give it a few years of bottle aging to let the oak and fruit harmonize.
