Tasting notes
Garnatxa, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah. Very low yields at 18 hl/ha. Spontaneous fermentation followed by maceration of 25-30 days. Modern but very convincing, more intense aromatics than the average 2005 Priorat. Ripe but tight with deliciously robust-yet-resolved tannins. Palate is a bit warm, but still has vivid black fruit. Very long and precise for a ten-year-old Priorat. It really has aged well. (FC)

Finca Dofi is sourced from a single estate vineyard planted to 60% Garnacha with the balance Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, and Carinena aged in 100% new French oak. Opaque purple, it offers a superb bouquet of slate, leather, pencil lead, wood smoke, and cedar. Youthful, tight, but perfectly balanced, this intense effort will evolve in the cellar for 8-10 years. All the ingredients for greatness are there but patience is required. Importer: Manny Berk, The Rare Wine Co., Sonoma, CA; tel. (707) 996-4484
Deep ruby. Impressively pure raspberry and blackberry aromas are given an exotic twist by fresh violet, anise and graphite. Chewy dark fruit flavors boast remarkable concentration and clarity, with sweet mocha adding interest. Finishes with bright, mineral-accented cherry and cassis flavors and superb persistence.
