Score 17.5/20 · Drink 2010-2017, Tamlyn Currin, jancisrobinson.com, Mar 2010

85% Carignano, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot. Aged in French oak barrels for 18 months (30% new) and then bottle-aged for 12 months. Dark ruby and still that beautiful 'rose garden at night' perfume. Luscious dark fruit aromas. Much more serious and deeper than the Montessu. Stunning. Earthy, succulent; contoured by velvety gleaming tannins. Raspberry and liquorice notes. A haunting combination of fine elegance and power. (TC)
