The 2017 Bourgogne Rouge, which had been bottled under screwcap just 24 hours earlier, was still a little unsettled on the nose. The palate is balanced but straightforward, with slightly "stiff" tannin at the moment, and a strict, almost Morey-like finish. Hopefully it will develop more flesh with a few months in bottle.

Mainly aged in foudres and some barrels. Pommard, Volnay and some village Monthelie in the blend. Bottled mid October. Lightish crimson. Light and really juicy, lifted, bright and full of energy. Red fruits with savour. Light tannins. Moreish and drinkable now. (JH)
