The 2013 Corton Clos du Roi Grand Cru has a deep garnet color. The bouquet is very conservative at the moment and insists on coaxing to reveal tight blackberry and briary aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with fleshy ripe tannins, lively blackberry and bilberry notes with just a saline touch creeping in toward the backward finish. Fine, if lacking just a little excitement.
