Very dark crimson. Vigorous impact, well balanced with a suitably dry finish. Big and bold and fruity. So much fruit that you have to dig to find the (considerable) tannin. (JR)
Lots of shading. Light nose but pretty convincing. Very gentle and attractive – early maturing and perhaps lacks a little bit of freshness. (JR)
This wine has turned out to be more impressive from bottle than it was in cask. It is a charming, intensely-scented wine with a tell-tale olive, earth, grilled beef, and black currant-scented bouquet soaring from the glass. Medium to full-bodied, with low acidity, and round, luscious, richly fruity flavors, this is a meaty, fleshy, delicious Talbot that can be drunk now. Anticipated maturity: Now-2012.

Quality has not necessarily always lived up to this property’s Fourth Growth status, however there have been significant improvements in recent years, with a sustainable focus in the vineyard, and new winery and cellar.
