Offering flowery and forest floor notes, the 2014 Pinot Noir Little Hill reminds me of a DRC grand cru such as La Tache or Richebourg. Deep ruby/purple, with sweet black fruit as well as some rocky, wet pebble and loamy soil minerality, this wine, coming from the red soils of Little Hill, is just a beauty, a multi-dimensional tour de force to drink over the next 10-15 years.

The 2014 Pinot Noir Little Hill opens with a burst of sweet red cherry, cola, plum, cloves, new leather and menthol. Exotic, racy and flamboyant, the 2014 possesses superb depth and intensity to match its bold personality. The Little Hill is a typical Russian River Pinot built on raciness. The overt, racy style will appeal most to readers who like juicy Pinots. There is certainly plenty to like, including the wine's overall balance.
