Tasting notes
Deep, lurid ruby. A highly perfumed and impressively complex bouquet displays an array of ripe red/blue fruits, exotic spices, licorice candy, vanilla, cola and smoky minerals, with a suave floral topnote that gains strength with air. Stains the palate with sweet black raspberry, cherry-cola, star anise, mocha and floral pastille flavors that are braced and lifted by a spine of juicy acidity. Shows outstanding clarity and mineral cut on the long, floral-dominated finish, which is given shape and final grip by fine-grained, even tannins. This wine's blend of richness and vivacity is really impressive. (JR)

A deep and complex Priorat red, with intense blueberry and pomegranate character, but also with a certain lightness of touch. This has great, plush tannins, lively acidity for this vintage and a long, complex finish. Better from 2019 with serious aging potential.
I also previewed the 2016 Finca Dofí, which has vibrant acidity and more freshness than the 2015. It's a wine that really stands out among the 2016s—explosive and long, with concentration and elegance. This could very well become the finest Dofí to date. They expect to fill some 24,400 bottles.
