2002 Beringer Cabernet Sauvignon Knights Valley

Cabernet Sauvignon is one of Beringer’s strengths, and their regular 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon from Knight’s Valley shows a deep ruby/purple color, wonderful, straightforward licorice-infused black currant fruit with a hint of smoke and barrel. Good medium ruby. Candied blackberry, violet and licorice on the nose. Firm and juicy in the mouth, with a strongly floral aspect but less flesh and depth than the 2001. But this has a pleasing balance owing to its sound acidity and firm tannins.
