Score 17/20 · Drink 2024-2033, Jancis Robinson MW, Jan 2025
From a creek-side block planted in 1998 and a block next to the winery planted in 2018. Destemmed and pumped into a combination of steel and concrete tanks where, after a 5-day cold soak, the wine ferments with ambient yeasts. Aged for 14 months in a combination of French foudre and barriques, 33% new. 850 cases produced. Smells of black cherry and mocha. Sweet black-cherry and mocha flavours have a supple suede-like tannic texture and a lovely citric brightness thanks to excellent acidity. There’s something opulent about this wine, without feeling heavy. Rich and delicious. VGV (AY)
