Scents of citrus oil, beeswax, warm bread and green pear preface Moreau's 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Caillerets, a medium to full-bodied, chalky and incisive wine that displays terrific depth and dimension, concluding with a long and mineral finish.

Tank sample, still on lees. Rich and spicy, really rich, ripe, golden fruit. Spicy breadth and depth, but still draws in fresh on the finish. It has a minerality but more in spice than wet stones. (JH)
