Score 89/100 · Drink 2020-2030, Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, Wine Advocate, Aug 2020

The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Knights Valley is a blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. Deep garnet-purple in color, it features bold notions of baked plums, boysenberries and black cherry compote with an undercurrent of cinnamon stick, menthol and tree bark. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a great structure of firm, ripe, grainy tannins and lovely freshness supporting the juicy black fruit, finishing long. 82,752 cases were made.

This sits in the redder-fruit zone for the variety and has sappy, leafy nuances with ferrous notes, too. The palate has a smooth array of juicy red and dark-fruit flavors and supple tannins, framed in sweet oak spice. Medium body. Drink now.
