Tasting notes
Healthy dark garnet. Ripe, generous nose. Really very sleek and pleasurable. Pure Pauillac. Excellent in this context. (JR)

The 2014 Les Tourelles de Longueville has a rather muddled and herbaceous bouquet that lacks real lift from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, fresh and lively, not complex but there is decent length towards the finish. I have never been totally convinced by this Deuxième Vin and this blind tasting is further evidence that other vintages offer much more. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting.
Tasted blind. Some easy, flattering charm but arguably not quite enough guts for the long term. Pretty nice in the short term though. (JR)
The 2014 Les Tourelles de Longueville did not show as well as some might have expected at primeur. Now in bottle, I stand by that original sentiment because there is something a little anonymous on the nose, missing the fruit intensity or the terroir expression one would have hoped for. The palate is better: simple red berry fruit laced with cedar and a dash of spice, an easygoing Deuxième Vin that should perhaps aspire for more.
