Tasting notes
The zesty 2022 Viognier Cailloux Vineyard entices with a whiff of confectionary spice and white flowers giving way to freshly sliced peaches. It displays saline minerality up front, propelled by vibrant acidity as lime-tinged orchard fruits cascade throughout. This tapers off with a tropical flourish, dry and gently tannic, leaving hints of sour melon that fade slowly. While gorgeous today, the 2022 also possesses the balance to mature beautifully over the next eight to ten years.

I've always thought this estate produced one of the greatest Viogniers in the New World, and the 2022 Viognier does nothing to change that opinion. Sporting a light gold hue as well as Condrieu-like aromatics of orange blossom and white peach, with a beautiful floral and mineral character, it's medium-bodied, fresh, and focused, with classic Viognier texture and outstanding length.
Certainly, this is one of their finest Viogniers to date. The 2022 Viognier Cailloux Vineyard makes an instant impression with its fresh and inviting nose. Delight in an array of floral notes intertwined with a delicate stone fruit essence of peach purée, sweet Meyer lemon, quince, and apple paste before soft nuances of dusty white flowers and jasmine set in. Medium-bodied, with an electric mouthfeel, the palate jumps to life with lively, energetic acidity, offering a surprisingly weighted mid-palate with a growing spiciness that expands in amplitude as the wine sits on the palate. The wine continues to captivate through the long, lingering and spicy floral finish. Bravo!
