The 2016 Chardonnay Mays Canyon has come together very nicely during aging. Lemon confit, white flowers, mint, spice and apricot all grace this gentle, caressing Chardonnay. Creamy and impeccable in its balance, the 2016 Chardonnay Mays Canyon is another wine in this lineup of 2016s that offers tons of near and medium-term appeal.

Attractive lemons and yellow grapefruit here with a gently waxy edge and dried flowers, leading to a palate that has dense and pure pears, melon and apples with a subtle, long and attractively pithy finish.
The 2016 Chardonnay Mays Canyon is a rich, slightly tropical effort that has medium-bodied notes of pineapple, exotic fruits, and flowers, with a hint of minerality on the palate. It has good acidity, a rounded texture, and is a terrific Sonoma Coast Chardonnay. This is another estate making a distinctly vibrant, fresh style of wine that’s going to appeal to the Burgundy lovers out there. It’s an incredibly educational tasting going through all these different single vineyards from Ted Lemon and these are interesting, singular wines. As a whole, the 2015s shows slightly more oomph compared to the 2016s, yet both vintages have vibrant acidity and balanced profiles. As expected, quantities are slightly up in 2016.
