Tasting notes
In his book 'Inside Burgundy', Jasper Morris MW reports that when it comes to Puligny-Montrachet, Paul Pernot “could be the outstanding domaine of that appellation”. The domaine is unquestionably one of the top handful of growers in the region, with its Puligny showing exquisite delicacy and poise but with the structure to age gracefully. This Bourgogne Blanc is a “baby Puligny” made from the young vines of his Puligny-Montrachet sites and surrounding Côte de Beaune vineyards. The wine offers early drinking pleasure from a fantastic vintage for Côte d’Or whites, with the perfect combination of both ripeness and tension all at a fantastically affordable price. This approachable 2017 has the perfect combination of juicy Côte d’Or yellow apple fruit flavours and a bright vivid acidity. The texture is fantastic - silky but with a bit of mid palate weight too. A mouthwatering finish thanks to a touch of mineral salinity. Great value everyday drinking Bourgogne Blanc from a Puligny master.

Aromas of ripe lemons, apples and flowers preface the 2017 Bourgogne Chardonnay, a medium-bodied, satiny wine with a succulent, elegantly textural profile in a style adapted to early consumption. It's raised in tank until the completion of malolactic fermentation, whereupon it finishes its élevage in used cooperage.
Lemon-yellow. Very ripe aromas of peach, menthol and spices. Nicely concentrated and tactile, with the menthol quality carrying through on the palate and giving the finish a slightly bitter edge. A bit generic but boasts decent stuffing.
