Tasting notes
Inky deep purple. Violet florals and heaps of fruit – black plum, raspberry and cherry – in dried, fresh, and jam form. Really structured – intense, high tannin. Fresh acid. (SCJ)

The 2022 Petite Syrah Rattlesnake Ridge takes time to unwind in the glass, leading with opaque yet fresh aromas of baked plums, prunes, violets, blackcurrant, licorice and coconut flakes once ready. As with all the Turley Petite Syrah bottlings, the palate is incredibly full-bodied and lush, although providing noticeably more freshness in comparison to the Pesenti bottling. The finish is loaded with maximally ripe fruits and chewy yet gentle, powdery tannins that interweave with iron and violet notes. This will benefit from 3-5 years in the cellar to exchange some of its immense concentration for alluring nuance.
