The 2014 Petite Syrah Hayne Vineyard, from one of Napa Valley's historic, legacy sites, is utterly magnificent. Sweet, perfumed and silky on the palate, the 2014 possesses magnificent intensity and nuance. Red cherry jam, pomegranate, mint, spice and tobacco are some of the many notes that flesh out. Expressive floral and savory top notes add further shades of nuance. The Hayne is yet another exceptionally beautiful, vivid wine from Turley.

A deep, powerful wine, the 2014 Petite Syrah Hayne Vineyard is also the most explosive of these Petites. Inky dark fruit, wild flowers, graphite and savory herbs all raced across the palate in a wine endowed with pure energy and concentration. This viscerally thrilling Petite is going to require patience, but it is pretty special, even today.
