Tasting notes
Always a singular wine, the 2021 Grenache is no exception and boasts a translucent ruby hue as well as ripe red and black raspberry, medicinal herb, sage, and white pepper-driven aromas and flavors. This medium-bodied, elegant, silky Grenache has terrific balance and nicely integrated tannins. The 2021 is 100% Grenache that was not destemmed and was brought up in neutral vessels.

Outpost's 2021 Grenache—sourced from a single 1.3-acre block planted in 1998 to a selection from John Alban's Edna Valley vineyard—offers up lovely florals, roses, orange zest and potpourri, making it almost too much of a good thing. Thankfully, all those exotic perfumes are balanced by notes of ripe raspberries and strawberries. Full-bodied, this wine is silky but tannic, possessing ample structure without being hard or tough. All whole-cluster fermented Grenache and aged in used oak, it's a unique wine with a singular personality.
