Tasting notes
There is more smoke and dark fruit in the 2011 Barolo Cerretta than in other offerings from this estate. You definitely taste the power and black fruit density that is characteristic of the Serralunga d'Alba village where the Cerretta vineyard is located.

Serralunga d’Alba. Concentrated ruby with orange rim. Malty, red, ripe fruit on the nose. Brooding, ripe palate that is not entirely focused and with big, slightly astringent tannins. (WS)
Dark ruby. Some fresh leaves on the nose and a very sweet palate entry – almost atypical. Really quite rich for a Barolo with some heat on the end. Not quite fresh enough for perfection. (JR)
The 2011 Barolo Vigna Cerretta is sumptuous and racy to the core. Hints of cinnamon, pipe tobacco and orange zest add an element of exoticism as the 2011 opens up in the glass. Soft and pliant throughout, the Cerretta is a rare 2011 Serralunga Barolo that will drink well with minimal cellaring.
