The 2004 Clerc Milon has a somewhat airy, much more floral bouquet than the d'Armailhac but perhaps offers just a bit more class and panache. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins and fine precision. The 2004 has a polished, gentle grip and a persistent black peppery finish. Very fine.

Dark ruby with shaded colour. Interesting layers. Energy but not much subtlety. Still chewy on the end. (JR)

First bottle: possibly slightly corked. Second bottle: much better – more savoury and richer, especially in the mouth. Ripe sweet dark fruit. Firm and dry but not at all drying, though needs food or time. (JH)
