More plush and sexy, the 2021 Syrah Napa Valley has both red and blue fruits as well as textbook ground pepper, violets, and gamey, exotic notes in its medium to full-bodied, ripe, opulent, incredibly compelling profile. I love its tannins, and it has remarkable purity, flawless balance, and a great finish.
The ultra ripe Lewis style seems to work well with its Syrahs, like the 2021 Syrah. Defined by scents of pencil shavings, blueberries, hints of baking spices and cracked pepper, this is full-bodied, maybe not as creamy-textured as the other wines here, but nicely silky in feel, with a long, layered finish.
