Full screwcapped bottle 1,331 g. Coolish spring then a moderate to warm summer with an average temperature of 28 °C. Low rainfall. 14 months on lees in French oak (35% new). 65% malo. Pale greenish gold. Very fine, minerally nose. Beautiful palate with just enough fruit to counterbalance that marked but not austere acidity. Still youthful and very far from showy but very impressive on the very long and rather magnificently broad finish. This would not look out of place in comparison with a new-style, lean Meursault at the same price. Very precise winemaking and, one would imagine, vine-growing. (JR)
