Score 91-93/100 · William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Jan 2022
Mortet's 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Très Vieilles Vignes is superb, offering up aromas of dark berries, loamy soil, black truffles and peonies. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and concentrated, it's deep and vibrant, with a seamless profile and a long, penetrating finish. For some 50% of this cuvée, Mortet's team processed the harvest manually, cutting out the clusters' central rachis while retaining the grapes and their pedicels intact.
