Tasting notes
Cask sample. Rather rich crimson. This is really ripe on the nose! Super-sweet with oodles of charm and (just) enough acid and tannin to keep it on the rails. Certainly very clean and with grand cru intensity. I fear for some palates this will be just too much of a good thing! (JR)

Below Les Caillerets and deeper soil than there. In this vintage the limestone determines the style, thinks Rossignol. ‘Perfect balance between clay and limestone.’ Three producers bottle this premier cru. 30% whole bunch. Deepest crimson. Very rich, spicy and ripe but just avoids overripeness. Black plums, dark and savoury on the palate, lots of spice and super-rich. Deep, chewy, powerful and full of black fruit. Dense and compact tannins but rounded on the finish. A big, rich wine, not for the faint-hearted. Very long. Power but all in a tight structure. (JH)
