Tasting notes
The 2021 Pinot Noir MacIntyre Estate Vineyard is magnificent. Dark, plush and exceptionally vivid, the 2021 is a drop-dead gorgeous beauty. The mix of Calera and Swan clones yields an unctuous, rich Pinot that does not taste like a wine from sandy soils. The 2021 is sensational. I don't think I have ever tasted a wine like this before here. A rush of dark blue/purplish fruit, gravel, spice and menthol builds into the huge, structured finish. Unforgettable.

The dark ruby 2021 Pinot Noir MacIntyre Estate is sourced from the bottom slope of the estate vineyard. A dark-fruited profile emerges, with black cherry, violets, black tea, and wet stone followed by a full-bodied red with an angular texture and snappy yet refreshingly bitter notes of black tea, ripe red and blue fruit, and turned earth. More muscular in its character, hold this another couple of years and drink 2025-2040.
The 2021 Pinot Noir MacIntyre Estate Vineyard embodies the definition of weightless intensity. A deep well of red cherry jam and pomegranate unfold to accents of salted licorice, iodine, bergamot, prosciutto and savory spice. The palate explodes with concentrated fruit that segues to floral and earth tones as it sweeps through the mouth. It has a silky, seamless mouthfeel and a finish that goes on and on. Offer this magical wine 3-5 years in the bottle to unwind.
A superb red with fine yet muscular tannins that are formed and long. Broad shouldered. The wine is powerful yet intense with dark ripe strawberries, orange peel and violets. Some blue fruits, too. Calera and Swan. This needs three to four years to soften and open, but a hell of a wine.
