Tasting notes
The 2021 Chardonnay Hawk Hill Vineyard is scented of lemon curd, quince, acacia and hay. The light-bodied palate is silky and mouthwatering with fragrant citrus and floral layers, and it has a long, juicy finish.

The 2021 Chardonnay Hawk Hill Vineyard is a wine of unreal precision and class. Lemon peel, white flowers, crushed rocks, mint and white pepper lend notable aromatic brilliance throughout. This fruit, harvested on October 4, was the last to come in. I would give this a few more months in bottle to soften. It is easily one of the best wines I have tasted from Akiko Freeman.
The 2021 Chardonnay Hawk Hill Vineyard pours a medium yellow straw and offers fresh aromas of flinty wet stone, ripe green apple, and baking spices. Beautiful energy courses through the wine, with snappy and crunchy fruit of green apple, lime blossom, and chamomile, a mineral texture, and citrus-driven tension. This exciting wine will continue to improve with time in the cellar. Drink it over the next 8-10 years.
