The 2012 Montrachet Grand Cru demonstrates a discrete reduction on the nose that begins to lift with aeration. (For a minute or two I wondered whether there is a bit of TCA). The palate is fresh and sappy with an electrifying line of acidity. You can feel the tension from start to finish and yet it is only beginning to open the first few pages of its story. Superb. Tasted blind at the New World/Old World Chardonnay tasting in London.
