The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard balances power and nuance nicely. There is plenty of depth and intensity, yet the Georges III is one of the more accessible of the single-vineyard offerings. Dark cherry, chocolate, leather, licorice, iron and scorched earth give the 2018 all of that savory complexity that is typical of this sector of Rutherford.
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Georges III display a deep garnet-purple color, slipping seductively out of the glass with scents of plum preserves, warm cassis and baked black cherries plus hints of cardamom, pencil lead, underbrush and clove oil. Chock-full of ripe, rich black fruits, the full-bodied palate delivers loads of savory accents to lift the decadent flavors, framed by firm, grainy tannins and a lively backbone, finishing long and earthy.
