Tasting notes
Oddero has successfully managed the unexpected twists and turns of this warm and comparatively shorter growing season. The 2011 Barolo does indeed offer a fuller and more generous disposition, but it does so within those narrow and beautifully aligned parameters allowed by the Nebbiolo grape. Dark fruit nuances segue to mild spice and cinnamon. This is one of those rare wines that will drink well in the near term but that promises to improve with age.

Medium ruby with bright orange tinges. A tiny bit grubby on the nose. Stalky and not yet open on the palate, although the brooding fruit is evident. There is depth of fruit and it will improve with age, but for the moment it has a rather dry finish. (WS)
