Tasting notes
Mid to deep crimson. Creamy cherry aroma, and creamy on the palate, like cherry pie but not as sweet because the freshness is all there to balance. Gentle and pure fruited if not terribly intense. (JH)

(40% vendange entier; 20% new oak): Musky aromas of dark cherry, boysenberry, minerals and smoked meat. In a juicy, distinctly airy style, even a bit slight in the early going, but this wine also conveys an impression of stem intensity (and extraction) to its flavors of black fruits, flowers and spices. Finishes with firm tannins.

A more deeply pitched nose displays a well-layered mix of both red and black pinot fruit along with notes of spice, violets and sandalwood. Here too the middle weight flavors possess a highly seductive texture thanks to the velvety mouth feel that continues onto the serious, firm and lingering finish. This will need a few years first.
