Drink 2016, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Oct 2016

The 2014 Château Gemeillan is surprisingly deep in color. The nose was showing a lot of volatility with strong hickory notes, the palate chewy and dry. I wonder if this is representative? Tasted September 2016.

50% Merlot, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged 12 months in barrique. Smoky nose, very savoury black fruit and a good combination of acid and tannin to give refreshing structure. Vibrant fruit, but the finish is a little short. (RH)
