Bollinger's 1982 Blanc de Noirs Vieilles Vignes Françaises is drinking brilliantly today, bursting with aromas of golden orchard fruit, warm brioche, pralines and honeycomb mingled with deeper-pitched notions of mandarin oil and mocha. Full-bodied, broad and vinous, it's deep and textural, with a lavish core of fruit animated by a refined pinpoint mousse. Concluding with a long, expansive finish, it refutes any idea that this cuvée is best drunk young.
