A huge, indeed massive nose of exotic, very ripe orchard fruits, especially peach with white flowers and a hint of honey all framed in oak spice introduces full-bodied, weighty flavors displaying excellent density, depth and concentration. Boillot’s 2002 Batard-Montrachet offers up aromas of minerals and limestone. This big, broad, medium to full-bodied wine is suave and satiny-textured. Lush layers of minerals, bacon, smoke, apples, and pears can be found in its complex, concentrated personality. This exceptional effort also reveals a long, silky, fruit-filled finish.
