Tasting notes
One hundred percent Cabernet Sauvignon, the deep garnet-purple colored 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate sashays out of the glass with provocative Black Forest cake, warm blackcurrant, wild blueberries and black raspberry scents with an undercurrent of candied violets, menthol, pencil shavings and forest floor. The full-bodied palate is laden with fragrant black and blue fruits, framed by firm, finely-grained tannins and seamless freshness, finishing long and perfumed.

The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate may very well be the best wine I have ever tasted from Vineyard 7 & 8. Martha McClellan has succeeded in crafting a Cabernet that captures all the fruit intensity she is so well-known for, while retaining quite a bit of aromatic lift and energy. Small changes in cooperage and the personality of the vintage itself yielded a truly distinctive wine. I can't wait to taste it from bottle.
