The 2019 Blanc de Blancs Charles Heintz Vineyard is a wine of crystalline precision and energy. Citrus peel, crushed rocks, slate, white pepper and saline notes are all beautifully delineated. Linear and tense, with fabulous vibrancy, the 2019 is super impressive right out of the gate. This is another compelling sparkling wine from Ultramarine and Michael Cruse. Dosage is 2 grams per liter. (AG)

The 2018 Blanc de Blancs Charles Heintz Vineyard is a wine of crystalline precision and nuance, showing notes of crushed rocks, white flowers, mint and jasmine. The 2018 is an understated, quite wine built more on persistence than volume. There is so much character and vibrancy here. (AG)

Whole-cluster pressed, with each press run of approximately 122 gallons going into two neutral barrels, where they ferment with ambient yeasts. Malolactic conversion is blocked. The wines age in barrel sur lie for 6–8 months before being blended and then bottled for tirage, where they spend between 40 and 48 months on the lees. Dosage 2 g/l.      Fine bubbles. Smells of wet chalkboard, kelp and greengage plum. In the mouth, wonderfully salty green apple and greengage plum mix with white flowers. Velvety mousse, with great acidity and chalky minerality. Fantastic balance. (AY)

The 2018 Blanc De Blancs is forward with toasted brioche, buttered citrus, ripe pear, and quince. It’s medium to full-bodied, with generous fruit throughout, while remaining balanced and stony in its texture. Offering notes of honeysuckle and green apple candy, it has a fluffy mousse and a long finish. Drink 2025-2040.
