Probably the wine of the vintage from the Santa Lucia Highlands, the 2012 Pinot Noir Estate comes all from the granite soils of the Pisoni Estate vineyard, which is located in the southern end (which means the fog clears off earlier and warmer temps) of the appellation. It offers rocking aromas and flavors of crème de cassis and black raspberry fruit, big minerality, spring flowers and forest floor to go with a full-bodied, structured and classy feel on the palate. While it’s hard to resist now, it has the depth, richness and tannic structure to evolve nicely through 2022.

Pisoni's 2012 Pinot Noir Estate captures the essence of this site in its intense dark red and blue-toned fruit. Orange peel, incense, spices and tobacco are some of the many notes that add nuance on the exotic, multi-dimensional finish. The 2012 is ample, seamless and beautifully layered in the glass, with a fabulous balance of power and nuance. This is a gorgeous Pinot from one of the pioneering families in the Santa Lucia Highlands.
