Tasting notes
The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Grand Vin is a potent, explosive wine. It strikes me as a cross between the Roberta’s Reserve and the Rhapszodia in that it possesses both notable fruit density and aromatics that are starting to open. I would prefer to drink it over the next decade or so. Graphite, dried herbs, leather and incense linger.

Deep medium ruby. Aromas of black cherry, licorice and menthol, plus a slightly green suggestion of cassis bud and a hint of coffee torrefaction; aeration brought a suggestion of citrussy lift. Wonderfully dense, fine-grained and sweet; like the Roberta's, this is much easier to taste today than its 2016 sibling, even if it doesn't possess quite that wine's breadth. With its refined texture and sweetness of fruit, this wine comes across as less obviously tannic than the 2016 Roberta's--yet more indication of the power of Merlot at this site. (ST)
This aromas are decadent and rich with dark berries, hazelnuts, smoke and spices. Full- bodied, layered and very precise with defined tannins and a fresh finish. Elegant with energy. A driven young wine. Better in 2021 but already a joy to taste.
The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Grand Vin is dense, powerful and explosive, all qualities that should serve it well as it ages. Plush dark fruit, chocolate, spice, new leather and menthol infuse this deep, virile Cabernet Sauvignon. Heavy oak, torrefaction notes, along with a slight element of reduction I am not used to seeing here, are somewhat distracting. This is an especially full-throttle Cabernet Sauvignon from Kapcsándy.
