Tasting notes
Moving to the reds, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Dollarhide Estate Vineyard is all varietal and spent 18 months in 48% new French oak. It offers lots of smoky blue fruits, scrub brush, and damp earth notes, an inky purple color, medium to full body, a big kick of gravelly minerality, and a great finish. Coming from the oldest vines on the estate, it’s a seriously good Napa Cabernet that will benefit from a year or three of bottle age and cruise for two decades.

Made of 100% Cabernet, the deep garnet-purple colored 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Dollarhide Estate Vineyard reveals red currant jelly, baked plums and black currant cordial scents with hints of underbrush and cedar chest. Medium-bodied, it gives up loads of earth-laced black berry flavors in the mouth with a chewy frame and refreshing lift on the finish.
