The Altesino 1993 Brunello di Montalcino Montosoli is fleshed out and soft on the palate with a lactic note that reminds me of pecorino cheese or creamed Parmigiano. This Brunello aged in new oak, and you do taste the spice and toast that comes with this era of winemaking. The tannins are fine and integrated, but the wine's taste profile is largely driven by the oak aging. Tasted today, this wine is a fun window in time.
