Lots of density and strict structure. But the acidity seems a tad marked, especially since there is quite a bit of tannin. (JR)

The 2014 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes offers darker fruit than the Village Cru--blackberry and macerated strawberry, and a hint of cola in the background. The palate is quite powerful on the entry with blackcurrant pastille and raspberry, a slight bitterness developing on the tarry finish that feels a little over-extracted in the winery. Give this another couple of years and let's see if it softens ups.
