50% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay, 10% Pinot Meunier. 20-25% reserve wines. Three years on lees. RS 9.5 g/l. Orangey pink and quite frothy at first. Relatively deeply coloured for rosé champagne. Very fruity aroma – red fruits and orange plums. Lots of fruit in the mouth too, and that wealth of fruit plus the residual sugar gives a fullness in the mouth but also a slight tooth-coating effect. Packed with flavour and pretty good length. Quite a chewy, textural finish. Maybe more of a food wine (but not rich enough for desserts) than an aperitif. (JH)
