The 2019 Chardonnay Hudson Vineyard was bright before, but it is still so fresh. There's an exotic feel here, but the 2019 is also chiseled and very, very young. White flowers, mint, crushed rocks, lime and light tropical notes soar out of the glass. At nearly five years of age, the 2019 remains brisk.

The 2019 Chardonnay Hudson Vineyard was bright before, but it is still so fresh. There’s an exotic feel here, but the 2019 is also chiseled and very, very young. White flowers, mint, crushed rocks, lime and light tropical notes soar out of the glass. At nearly five years of age, the 2019 remains brisk.
Aromas of white peaches, spiced apples, dried honeysuckle, lemon pith, cedar and cloves. It’s full-bodied with fresh acidity and a vibrant, tight and textured palate. Long and focused. Richer style and density. Drink now or hold.
The 2019 Chardonnay Hudson (a tank sample) delivers a full-on exotic nose of tropical fruits, pineapple upside-down cake, beeswax and spiced pears with an undercurrent of cashews and brioche plus a touch of yuzu zest. Full-bodied, the palate is satisfyingly savory and multilayered, with tons of mineral sparks accenting the opulent fruit, and the long, decadent finish is beautifully offset by racy freshness.

The Aubert wines, particularly the Chardonnay, have a cult following – beloved for their rich, hedonistic style. Created by Mark and Theresa Aubert in 1999, the property makes some of California’s most sought-after Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, all from single vineyards across Sonoma.
