Tasting notes
There are 290 cases of the 2021 Syrah, produced from the Alban clone and aged in 40% new French barriques, 40% used foudres and 20% amphorae. Because of the drought season, average berry weight was only one gram, versus the more typical 1.5 grams. It's a dark-hued wine, dominated by dark-fruit notes of black olives and black cherries on the nose, with hints of espresso and dried spices. In the mouth, the wine is medium to full-bodied and creamy-supple in feel, with just a touch of warmth on the lingering finish.
