The 2015 Chardonnay Sugar Shack is gorgeous. Orange confit, hazelnut, spice, baked apple tart, spice and light caramel notes are indicative of a mature wine. There's still good acidity, so the 2015 might hold for a bit more, but there's not much potential upside from cellaring this further.

The 2015 Chardonnay Sugar Shack Estate is pure honeyed apricots and beeswax with suggestions of bread, salted almonds, croissant and a touch of aniseed. It is full-bodied, rich, intense, lifted, fresh and really well structured with a solid backbone, finishing long and sleek with some minerals.

The 2015 Chardonnay Sugar Shack, from Mark Aubert's ranch in Rutherford, is rich, ample and creamy. This is an especially opulent, flamboyant Chardonnay built on serious texture and volume. Crème caramel, tropical fruit, lemon confit and white flowers infuse the huge finish.
About the producer
The Aubert wines, particularly the Chardonnay, have a cult following – beloved for their rich, hedonistic style. Created by Mark and Theresa Aubert in 1999, the property makes some of California’s most sought-after Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, all from single vineyards across Sonoma.
