Tasting notes
The 2003 Sigalas Rabaud has an attractive nose with caramelized pear, orange pith and light Aszú notes that are well-defined considering the vintage. The palate is fresh and vibrant, taut and linear, with sapid orange rind and marmalade notes towards the finish. It is definitely one of the better Sauternes in this vintage. Tasted at the Sigalas Rabaud vertical at the winery.

Ex-chateau bottle tasted blind in Sauternes. The Sigalas Rabaud ’03 has turned out to be one of the finest Sauternes of the vintage. It has an attractive nose of lemon curd, dried pineapple and mango – touches of yellow flower and lanolin developing with time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with a viscous opening. This is well-balanced with a lovely candied core of fruit, citrus acidity and commendable precision on the fresh, vital, effervescent finish. I would seek out this lovely wine that has genuine long-term potential. Drink now-2030. Tasted April 2013.
Good yellow-gold. Very ripe, almost tokaj-like aromas of honey, toffee and coffee. Concentrated, pure and quite sweet, with high-toned, slightly medicinal flavors of nectarine, lemon peel and spicy oak.
